FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below are some of the commonly asked questions that people have about the thyroid and my services. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any other or additional questions.

GENERAL FAQS

WHO DO YOU WORK WITH?

I am licensed to practice in Washington, Oregon, and Texas.  I am currently offering virtual and phone appointments for anyone living in these states.

WHERE WILL WE MEET?

Online sessions via Practice Better, a HIPAA compliant electronic medical records platform.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

I understand that life gets in the way sometimes and we need to reschedule.  There is no fee to reschedule if done so prior to 24-hours before your appointment. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24-hours of notice provided, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.

WILL INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?

I am an in-network provider for Regence BCBS, First Choice Health, Cigna and United Health Care. For all other insurance companies, I am happy to provide a Superbill to submit for possible reimbursement.

WHAT WILL MY INITIAL ASSESSMENT LOOK LIKE?

First, we will start by taking a deep dive into your medical history and current diagnosis if relevant.  Next, we will talk a lot about your health goals and how we can work together to achieve them by making small sustainable changes.  You will leave with action steps to get started towards your healthiest self as well as educational materials and a customizable meal plan based on your personal needs and preferences.  My support will not end after our initial session, I will check in with you by email to gently encourage you on your health journey and make sure that you have the tools you will need along the way.

WILL I HAVE TO BUY A BUNCH OF EXPENSIVE SPECIALTY FOODS AND SUPPLEMENTS?

I use a “food as medicine approach” and only recommend supplements when necessary. The diet I recommend will be made up whole and minimally processed foods and will include a variety of fruits and vegetables.  I am a foodie at heart and will recommend foods that are highly nutritious as well as flavorful and satiating.
